The length of my hair is 26 inches (65 cm) long and the volume of my ponytail is 3,2 inches (8 cm). My natural hair colour is dark blond. Yet, I haven't been blond for over 10 years. I definitely feel better as a dark-haired woman.
My hair strands are thin and of normal porosity. They are in good condition, however, they tend to tangle, break and split easily, so I have to really care for them. Unfortunately, I still have hair shading and regrowing banks, which makes my hair even more fragile. But it's nothing in comparison to my tendrils in the past.
Back then my hair was dry and very straight, I would say unnaturally straight. I used to have many breakages and split ends. I know today it was caused by improper care. My biggest sins were every-month dying and every-day washing. No cosmetics could have improved its condition. Even if it was soft and shiny, it was only for a short while. The explanation is simple. My hair cuticles stayed open and the strands just lose its moisture quickly. There was no way to close them.
Everything has changed when I started to wash my hair less often. This way I stopped damaging it and the cuticles could have closed with time. Oiling my hair on a regular basis, that is before every washing, and henna it every month turned out to be the cherry on top. Today, I oil and wash my hair twice a week, I henna it every month and trim it every three months.
Yet, my hair still isn't perfect. First, I'm still short of some inches to have my perfect length. Second, my hair strands are of various lengths, which I don't like. Moreover, it makes impossible to keep the ends in perfect condition. Third, my colour has warm tones whereas I prefer the cold ones.
Point one and two, I can't do anything but to grow my hair and trim it on a regular basis. Point three, I've already bought Khadi Herbal Hair Colour Ash Brown and going to use it soon, so I'll see if it really helps achieve cool shades.
